About the School of Automotive Engineering
The School of Automotive Engineering (SAE) at Dalian University of Technology, established in May 2007, is the first automotive engineering school in Liaoning Province. The school was established by the university in accordance with the discipline development plan and to meet the social and market demands for both high-level talents and advanced technologies in the automotive industry. The school was organized by integrating the original vehicle engineering resources at DUT with several domestic innovation teams. The school has contributed to revitalize the traditional northeast industrial base.
The school offers English intensive undergraduate program, Master of Science (M.S.), Master of Engineering (M.E.), and Ph.D. programs in vehicle engineering. The main objective of the school is to prepare students for future success and leadership in automotive related industry, academic and management careers. Focusing on the advanced technologies and development trends of the world auto industry, the school has the following research fields: automotive body engineering, automotive safety and energy, NVH & control engineering, digital vehicle engineering, automotive electronics, vehicle advanced manufacturing, intelligent vehicles and automotive service engineering.
The school has nine research institutes, four labs. It also covers the National Virtual Simulation Center for Experimental of Automotive Engineering, the Liaoning Provincial Key Laboratory of New Energy Vehicle Manufacturing and Power Control, the Advanced Design and Manufacturing Engineering Research Center of Liaoning Province. The school has established comprehensive cooperation with worldwide universities, research institutes and industrial enterprises, including University of Michigan, Kettering University, Michigan State University, Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, GM, Ford, FAW, SAIC etc.
